John Stones free transfer attracts interest from Inter and Chelsea

England centre‑back John Stones, 32, became a free agent when his contract with Manchester City expired at the end of June. Both Inter Milan and Chelsea have been reported to be evaluating the possibility of signing him without a transfer fee.

Inter’s management is reportedly weighing a zero‑cost deal that would fit within the club’s budget constraints, while Chelsea have also placed the defender on their shortlist alongside other defensive targets. Stones, a former England international with 93 caps and a record of domestic and European titles, could bolster either side’s back line this summer.
