John Sykes posthumous EP ‘One Way’ to be released in November

Golden Robot Records has announced the worldwide release of ‘One Way’, a posthumous EP featuring the final known recordings of guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter John Sykes. The EP is scheduled for release on November 6 and is currently available for pre-save on major streaming platforms.

Sykes, known for his work with bands such as Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, Blue Murder, and Tygers of Pan Tang, is recognized as a significant figure in hard rock and heavy metal. The announcement follows the release of the singles ‘My Guitar’ and ‘Believe in Yourself’.

Previous releases have been met with controversy; Sykes’ family previously issued a statement claiming the estate had not ‘authorised, entered into, or agreed to any arrangement with Golden Robot Records for his unfinished material to be mastered, released or distributed under their label’. In response to such speculation, the label stated that the music is being released with ‘the utmost respect, care, and affection for John’ and maintained that the release of ‘My Guitar’ was fully permitted.
