John Ternus drives rare Porsche 935 at Laguna Seca
Apple executive John Ternus has gained attention for his performance driving a rare Porsche 935 at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in California. The vehicle, a 700-horsepower model inspired by Le Mans racing, is one of only 77 produced. Ternus recorded a lap time of under 1 minute and 40 seconds, a feat comparable to professional automotive testers driving high-performance models like the BMW M4 or Nissan GT-R.
Separately, Porsche is navigating a transition toward electric vehicles. While the company faces challenges with the Taycan's sales and the impact of replacing the Macan with an EV model, it is adjusting its strategy by reintroducing internal combustion engine options for the Macan and Cayenne. The company is also developing the 992.2 mid-cycle refresh, which includes the first hybrid versions of the 911 series, such as the GTS T-Hybrid.
