John Textor sues Olympique Lyonnais for over €20 million

Former Olympique Lyonnais president John Textor has filed a lawsuit at the Lyon Tribunal of Economic Activities, seeking more than €20 million in compensation from the club. The claim includes €2.5 million for alleged unpaid management fees and €18.4 million, interest included, for a short‑term loan advance. A hearing is scheduled for September 2026.

Textor, who led the club from 2023 to 2025, accuses the current ownership, headed by Michele Kang and controlled through EFG, of conspiring to seize control of the club. Olympique Lyonnais described the action as a “judicial guerrilla” and has filed its own complaint alleging abuse of corporate assets during Textor’s tenure. Textor previously lodged a $400 million suit in Florida over similar disputes.

The dispute highlights ongoing tensions over the club’s finances and governance following its transition from former owner Jean‑Michel Aulas to the current American‑led consortium.
