John Wilson releases debut feature film ‘The History of Concrete’
Filmmaker John Wilson, known for the HBO series ‘How To with John Wilson’, has released his first feature film, ‘The History of Concrete’. The documentary utilizes a non-linear storytelling approach to explore the nature of time and preservation through the lens of concrete, a material intended to be permanent but prone to decay.
The film was inspired by a flooding issue in Wilson’s own basement. His cinematic journey takes him from Italy, where he examines ancient concrete structures, to Ohio, the site of the first concrete street. The narrative includes various eccentric detours, ranging from a company that preserves tattooed skin to Wilson’s own struggles to secure funding for the project.
