Johnnie Walker collection of 3,200 items to be auctioned
Whisky Auctioneer will host a massive auction from September 11 to 21 featuring what is described as the largest collection of Johnnie Walker whiskies and memorabilia ever presented. The collection was assembled over two decades by California-based collector Frans Op den Kamp, beginning with a single bottle of Blue Label purchased in New York in 1999.
The auction includes more than 1,600 full-sized bottles, 600 miniatures, and over 1,000 pieces of advertising and brand-related memorabilia. The items span over a century of history, ranging from early 20th-century Old Highland Whisky to modern limited editions.
Notable highlights include the 1805 Celebration Blend, which was produced in only 200 bottles to mark the bicentennial of John Walker’s birth, and an ultra-exclusive Signature Blend by Formula One champion Jenson Button, which was limited to just 25 bottles. Op den Kamp stated that he is parting with the collection because he feels he has achieved his goal of completing the project.
