Johnny Depp in talks to return to Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has indicated that discussions are underway regarding the potential return of Johnny Depp to the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise. Speaking at the D23 event, Bruckheimer confirmed that talks are in progress to bring the actor back as Captain Jack Sparrow.

While a formal deal has not yet been finalized, the possibility of Depp’s return may shift the creative direction of the upcoming film. Previous development plans included a focus on Jack Sparrow’s son and a new character played by Margot Robbie, but a return of the original lead could alter these plans and move the studio away from a total reboot.

Depp’s relationship with Disney has been strained following his departure from the franchise and his previous comments regarding the studio’s support during his legal battles. Although rumors of a comeback have circulated widely, official confirmation from Disney or Depp’s representatives remains pending.
