Johnny Depp to debut first sculpture at Contemporary Istanbul

Actor Johnny Depp is set to debut as a sculptor with his first three-dimensional work, titled ‘The Bunnyman’. The piece, a two-meter-tall white bronze sculpture, will be exhibited at the Contemporary Istanbul art fair from September 22 to 27, 2026.

Located outdoors at the historic Tersane Istanbul shipyard, the sculpture depicts a ‘half-man, half-rabbit guardian’ carrying the ‘sword of truth’. Depp noted that the concept originated from a drawing made by his son, Jack, when he was five years old. The figure has since become a recurring motif in Depp’s visual art, including his paintings and sketches.

The creation of the sculpture involved collaboration with the Sigg Art Foundation, Pantheon Art, and Fonderia Artistica Battaglia in Milan. This debut coincides with Depp’s ‘A Bunch of Stuff’ exhibition at the Shanghai Museum of Art, which features over 200 of his works.
