Johnny Marr releases new single ‘It’s Time’ ahead of upcoming album

Johnny Marr, the guitarist for The Smiths, has released a new single titled ‘It’s Time’ alongside a music video filmed at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl. The track is the third single from his upcoming fifth studio album, ‘The Age of Everything’, which is scheduled for release on October 2 via BMG.

Marr described the new album as his most cathartic work to date, noting that the title reflects a sense of being overwhelmed by modern technology while also seeing a sense of possibility. The album was written in London, refined during a tour of the U.S. East Coast, and recorded in Manchester.

In addition to the album, Marr will release an enhanced anniversary edition of his autobiography, ‘Set the Boy Free’, on October 22. This edition will include new archival photography and a foreword by Noel Gallagher.
