Johnny Marr to release fifth solo album ‘The Age Of Everything’

Johnny Marr is set to release his fifth solo studio album, ‘The Age Of Everything’. The project follows a career spanning over four decades, including his influential work with The Smiths and various collaborations with artists such as Electronic and Modest Mouse.

Marr noted that his creative process for this album involved playing eight of the ten tracks live on the road before entering the studio. He credited working with Damon Albarn on the latest Gorillaz record with teaching him to be more ‘open-minded’ and to avoid forcing the songwriting process. Marr described his approach to the new material as being driven by a ‘real sense of purpose’ and a desire to embrace the challenge of writing upbeat songs rather than relying on introspective themes.
