Johor attracts over RM5 billion in potential high-tech investments
Johor has attracted potential investments exceeding RM5 billion ($1.5 billion) following a series of meetings with investors in Singapore. According to Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, these investments target strategic and high-tech sectors, including high-speed optical technology, healthcare technology, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
To support this growth, the Johor Talent Development Council (JTDC) will prioritize training to ensure the local workforce can meet industry demands. Additionally, the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) is being coordinated with Singaporean officials, with plans to launch an investment master plan and action plan by the end of 2026.
