Johor Darul Ta'zim defeats Penang FC 7-2 in FA Cup quarter-final

Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) secured a dominant 7-2 victory over Penang FC in the first leg of the FA Cup quarter-finals at Stadium Bandaraya. The win places JDT in a strong position to advance to the semi-finals.

JDT controlled the match from the start, with Bergson da Silva opening the scoring in the 18th minute. While Penang FC managed to briefly close the gap in the second half through a header by Enzo Celestine, JDT responded with six additional goals, including strikes from Marcos Guilherme, Stoichkov, Shahab Zahedi, and Brad Tapp.

JDT head coach Xisco Munoz expressed satisfaction with his squad's depth and performance. Conversely, Penang FC coach Wan Rohaimi Wan Ismail attributed the heavy defeat to individual errors in defense and goalkeeping that allowed JDT to score easily.
