Johor Darul Ta’zim defeats Pohang Steelers 2-0 in ACLE

Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) secured their first victory in the AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE) group stage with a 2-0 win against Pohang Steelers at the Pohang Steelyard in South Korea.

Marcos Guilherme scored both goals for the Malaysian side, finding the net in the 49th and 89th minutes. This result brings JDT to four points from two matches, placing them third in the ACLE East Zone standings. Their campaign began with a 1-1 draw against Thailand's Buriram United.

JDT head coach Xisco Muñoz had previously emphasized the need for high energy and commitment to avoid mistakes against the South Korean hosts. The team now prepares to host Thailand's Port FC on October 27, 2026, as they look to secure a spot in the round of 16.
