Johor extends Visit Johor campaign to 2027
The Johor state government has announced the extension of the ‘Visit Johor 2026’ campaign to 2027. The decision aims to sustain promotional momentum and capitalize on the upcoming operation of the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, which is expected to begin next year.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi stated that the RTS Link will serve as a ‘game changer’ by facilitating cross-border movement and attracting more visitors from Singapore and international markets. The state targets 12 million overnight tourists, with an expected economic impact exceeding RM42 billion.
To support this initiative, the government is investing in tourism infrastructure. Following an initial RM187 million budget for upgrades, an additional RM50 million is planned for next year. Key development projects, valued at approximately RM37.2 million, include the Sungai Lebam Recreation Centre in Pengerang, the Pengerang Cultural Centre, and facilities at Gunung Ledang National Park.
