Johor government approves RM900,000 for Segamat infrastructure projects
The Johor state government has approved RM900,000 for 18 projects across six state assembly constituencies in Segamat. Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi stated the funds are intended for upgrading and repairing public facilities and infrastructure to benefit local residents.
During a working visit to Segamat, officials also reviewed the Segamat District Johor Economic Transformation Plan (JETP). This strategic initiative aims to leverage existing local strengths to create new growth opportunities, generate employment, and increase community income. Proposed developments include the Bangsa Johor Community Park, Bangsa Johor Business Center, and the Bangsa Johor Mini Water Park in Labis and Segamat.
Separately, Johor’s Housing and Local Government Committee Chairman, Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor, emphasized that rapid state development must be accompanied by adequate roads, schools, healthcare facilities, and utilities. Speaking at the Johor Planning Committee Meeting, he noted that infrastructure must keep pace with population growth and economic activity to prevent future burdens on the public. Key planning agendas include the Johor Structure Plan 2040 and various master plans for Pasir Gudang, Endau, and the Maharani Freeport.
