Johor Government studies Digital Penang to boost digital talent

The Johor State Government is strengthening its digital talent development agenda through a benchmarking visit to Digital Penang. The delegation, led by Dr. Muhammad Naqib Md Ghazali, aimed to study approaches to empowering the technology-based economic ecosystem and human capital.

The visit focused on the Digital Economy Master Plan (DEMP) 2025-2030, which encompasses digital government, digital economy, digital society, and digital foundations. Key areas of interest included talent development, innovation, startup support, enterprise digitalization, and infrastructure strengthening.

Insights from the visit will be reviewed by the Johor Talent Development Council (JTDC) to coordinate digitalization, education, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) efforts. These initiatives are intended to prepare the local workforce for new job opportunities arising from the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) and to support the Johor State Digital Council under the Maju Johor 2030 agenda.
