Johor police detain 13 suspects in fatal gang-related collision

Police in Johor have detained 13 suspects, including a 15-year-old girl, following a fatal incident in Kulai on August 25. The investigation revealed that the death of a 17-year-old male was not a simple traffic accident, but rather the result of a dispute between two gang groups.

According to Johor Police Chief Datuk Ab. Rahaman Arsad, the victim was traveling in a Perodua Myvi with four friends when they were pursued by several vehicles. During the pursuit, the victim's vehicle was struck by another car, causing it to veer off course. The victim was then thrown from the vehicle and struck by a Toyota Vellfire, resulting in his death at the scene.

The suspects, aged between 15 and 31, are being investigated under Section 302 and Section 148 of the Penal Code, as well as Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Police seized several items during raids in Johor and Selangor, including 12 mobile phones, three vehicles (a Kia Forte, a Toyota Vellfire, and a Toyota Hilux), a baseball bat, and a crowbar.
