Joinville man sentenced to 60 years for pharmacy robberies

A man has been sentenced to more than 60 years in prison for a series of robberies targeting pharmacies and commercial establishments in Joinville, Santa Catarina. The sentence was issued by the 2nd Criminal Court of Joinville following an investigation by the Civil Police.

The individual was previously serving a sentence under house arrest with an electronic ankle monitor. He reportedly broke the device and became a fugitive. Between March and April 2026, he targeted four establishments, including two pharmacies in the Boa Vista neighborhood, stealing medications, cell phones, and other products. He was arrested in May after investigators gathered sufficient evidence to link him to the crimes.
