Jojob carpooling initiatives report 95,000 trips in Italian cities

Carpooling initiatives in Italy are expanding from corporate environments to broader municipal territories. According to data from the 2026 'Osservatorio Aziende in Movimento', the carpooling operator Jojob has reported significant results in the cities of Torino, Brescia, and Firenze.

In these three locations, Jojob certified 94,852 shared trips. These efforts resulted in an estimated reduction of 153,404 kg of direct CO2 emissions. Additionally, approximately 42,000 euros in incentives were distributed to individuals who participated in the shared travel programs.

Jojob CEO Gerard Albertengo noted that municipalities are increasingly looking toward the sharing economy to address rising fuel costs and reduce traffic and emissions. The company plans to expand its territorial carpooling services to new areas, including Sassari.
