Jokerit sign forward Teemu Turunen to three‑year contract

Finnish Liiga club Jokerit announced a three‑year deal with forward Teemu Turunen, who returns from Sweden's Örebro HK. Turunen, who earned roughly €180,000 net per season in the SHL, said the move was motivated by a family illness that occurred over the summer. The club also added defensemen Matthew Caito from the United States and Oliver Larsen from Denmark on one‑year contracts.

Turunen previously played for Jokerit’s junior program, spent a season in the KHL, and has featured for HPK, HIFK and Kärpät in Finland, winning the league scoring title in the 2023‑24 season with 30 points. He also represented Finland at the 2021 World Championships and was part of the silver‑medal team.

The signings reinforce Jokerit’s roster ahead of the upcoming Liiga campaign, bringing back a prolific scorer and bolstering the defensive line with international talent.
