Joker's role and abilities in Fire Force

The character Joker, also known as Shuichi Tsushima, serves as a pivotal figure in the Fire Force narrative. Operating largely outside the formal structures of the Special Fire Force, he acts as an independent influence on characters such as Shinra Kusakabe and Company 8.

Joker possesses unique abilities linked to the underworld and the phenomenon of spontaneous human combustion. Unlike traditional Fire Soldiers, his powers involve the assimilation of underworld energy, allowing him to create portals for instantaneous travel and manipulate energy flows. His complex motivations and ambiguous allegiances, particularly regarding the Evangelist, contribute significantly to the series' central mysteries and the unfolding conflict against supernatural threats.
