Joko Widodo Launches Lampung Tour Wearing PSI Gear to Boost Prabowo’s Campaign

President Joko Widodo arrived in Lampung on June 26, 2026, wearing a shirt and hat bearing the logo of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Solidarity (PSI). The appearance marked the start of a regional political tour aimed at motivating PSI cadres and rallying support for Prabowo Subianto’s 2024 presidential bid. Jokowi said the attire was a gift from PSI leader Kaesang Pangarep and emphasized the need for a strong party structure ahead of the 2029 elections.

Police in Mesuji Regency carried out comprehensive security checks of transport hubs and public venues ahead of the visit, reflecting heightened security measures for the president’s itinerary. Local businesses reported a short‑term boost in retail activity, while analysts noted that such spikes are usually unsustainable and that the visit could divert municipal resources from longer‑term projects.

Two days earlier, on June 24, Prabowo Subianto’s personal secretary Rizky Irmansyah visited Jokowi at his residence in Solo, Central Java, and handed the president a wedding invitation. Rizky declined to comment on any political messages, describing the meeting as a simple personal visit.
