Jokowi's political moves challenge Prabowo government

Former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) made a high‑profile visit to Lampung, receiving a traditional title from the local palace. Analysts said the trip, which included members of the PSI party, was a politically‑charged safari that undermined President Prabowo Subianto’s coalition, describing Jokowi and PSI as a “thorn in the flesh” of the administration.

Jokowi’s legal team also raised concerns about a strategy by former minister Roy Suryo in a separate fake‑diploma case. Lawyer Rivai Kusumanegara claimed Suryo’s pre‑trial application created a deliberate delay, creating a gap between the hearings of Suryo and Dr. Tifa and causing inconvenience for prosecutors. The move was portrayed as a tactical use of new procedural rules to stall the main investigation.
