Jolie Farmer scores twice in Maryland's 2-1 win over FDU

Jolie Farmer scored twice to lead the Maryland women’s soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson at Ludwig Field. The redshirt sophomore, a transfer from Penn State, scored her second goal of the season less than two minutes into the match with a strike from inside the 18-yard box.

Farmer added a second goal in the 67th minute to extend the lead. She has now accounted for all three of Maryland’s goals through the first two games of the season. The Terps' offense was supported by midfielder Emily Lenhard, who helped facilitate play through the center of the field.

Defensively, Maryland maintained significant possession during the first half, limiting Fairleigh Dickinson to no shots on goal. Goalkeeper Meredith Fisher and the defensive line were tested in the second half as the opposition increased their aggression.
