Jomoro MP Dorcas Affo-Toffey provides aid to local groups
Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the Member of Parliament for Jomoro in Ghana's Western Region, has distributed equipment and cash to support vulnerable groups and local workers. The initiative targeted Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), young artisans, and community medical first responders to improve livelihoods and strengthen essential services.
To support PWDs, the MP provided 30 chest freezers and various cash amounts to assist in establishing or expanding businesses. Other distributed items included tricycles (Aboboyaa), sewing machines, cooking utensils, and gas cylinders.
Under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Model, artisans in the Skilled Support Training Programme received tools such as hair dryers, wheelbarrows, shovels, electric irons, and spraying machines to encourage self-employment. Additionally, ambulance service assistants and community medical first responders were supplied with first-aid equipment to enhance emergency response capabilities at the community level.
