Jon Bernthal Returns as Punisher in New Spider‑Man Film

Actor Jon Bernthal reprises his role as Frank Castle, the Punisher, in the upcoming Marvel movie Spider‑Man: Brand New Day. In a MovieWeb interview, director Destin Daniel Cretton said Castle serves as a warning to Peter Parker, showing the cost of a solitary, dark life. Bernthal echoed that the character wants to keep Parker from following his painful path.

The film, set a few years after No Way Home, opens in U.S. theaters this Friday and features Tom Holland’s Spider‑Man facing the moral limits posed by the Punisher.

Separately, Bernthal spoke about his personal life, describing himself as a proud father of three children with wife Erin Angle. His eldest son, Henry (15), shares his interest in boxing and jiu‑jitsu, while younger son Billy (13) plays quarterback and basketball. Their pre‑teen daughter, Adeline, has appeared in a Punisher short. Bernthal emphasized wanting his children to avoid his own mistakes and to embody kindness.
