Jon Jones identifies Ilia Topuria as former threat to GOAT status

MMA legend Jon Jones has identified Ilia Topuria as the first fighter he viewed as a legitimate threat to his claim as the greatest of all time (GOAT) in mixed martial arts.

In a recent interview, Jones stated that prior to Topuria’s loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250, he considered the former two-division champion to be ‘invincible.’ Jones noted a conflict between his desire to see new records broken and his personal drive to protect his legacy for his family’s honor.

Despite Topuria’s recent upset loss, Jones expressed continued admiration for the fighter, citing his boxing, power, confidence, and entertainment value.
