Jon Pardi reached number one with ‘Head Over Boots’ in 2016

In 2016, country music artist Jon Pardi reached the number one spot on the Billboard Country Airplay chart with his single ‘Head Over Boots’. The track, which featured a Western swing influence, stood out during an era dominated by the ‘bro-country’ sound.

Produced by Bart Butler and co-written by Pardi and Luke Laird, the song was inspired by a 2013 visit to a dancehall in central Texas. ‘Head Over Boots’ served as the lead single for Pardi’s sophomore album, ‘California Sunrise’, which debuted at number one on the Top Country Albums chart in July 2016.

The single has since earned a seven-times Platinum certification from the RIAA. This achievement ties it with ‘Dirt on My Boots’ as Pardi’s highest-certified title among his 17 certified singles. A 10th-anniversary edition of the triple-platinum ‘California Sunrise’ album was released on June 12.
