Jon Rahm addresses LIV Golf uncertainty and future tournament plans

Jon Rahm has addressed the growing uncertainty surrounding LIV Golf, describing the current situation as “turbulence” following reports that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund has withdrawn financial support. While Rahm has not confirmed a return to the PGA Tour, he noted that many factors are in play and “time’s gonna tell.”

Despite the instability within the Saudi-backed league, Rahm has outlined a competitive schedule for the remainder of the year. He plans to compete in the Amgen Irish Open at Doonbeg and intends to participate in the DP World Tour playoffs in the United Arab Emirates, including the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and the DP World Tour Championship, provided regional security conditions allow.

Participating in the UAE playoffs could impact his standing in the Race to Dubai and the Ryder Cup rankings. While his 2023 Masters victory secures his status in the United States, a high finish in the Race to Dubai could serve as a potential pathway for a return to the PGA Tour in 2027.
