Jon Rahm reportedly leaving LIV Golf after current season
Spanish golfer Jon Rahm is reportedly set to depart LIV Golf following the conclusion of the current season. League sources indicate they are “almost resigned” to his exit, which comes as the league faces financial uncertainty regarding its ability to sustain operations beyond 2027 without Saudi backing.
Rahm, the captain of Legion XIII and a former World No. 1, previously reached an agreement with the DP World Tour in May to maintain his membership and Ryder Cup eligibility. This deal included settling outstanding fines and committing to play five events on the European-based tour. The DP World Tour has expressed increasing confidence that Rahm will participate in more of its events next year.
The potential departure occurs as the DP World Tour prepares to re-implement fines and tournament suspensions for LIV members who compete in conflicting events starting in 2027.
