Jonan Tan signs with NK Dugopolje, becoming Singapore's first professional player in Croatia

Jonan Tan, a 20-year-old winger from Singapore, has signed with the Croatian second-division club NK Dugopolje. Tan becomes the first player born in Singapore to sign a professional contract with a Croatian club.

Tan developed through the Lion City Sailors academy, debuting for their senior team at age 16. Before moving to Croatia, he gained European experience in Portugal playing for the U-23 sides of Estrela Amadora and Vizela. His performances in Portugal earned him a call-up to the Singapore senior national team in November last year for Asian Cup qualifiers.

The transfer also shares a historical connection with Mirko Grabovac, a former Croatian player who moved to Singapore in 1999 and eventually represented the Singapore national team. Grabovac currently serves as the manager of the Dugopolje football school.
