Jonas Manywa detained by ICE during routine check-in

Jonas Manywa, a 42-year-old immigrant from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, has been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for the second time. The arrest occurred during a routine check-in at an ICE processing facility in Scarborough.

Following his detention, Manywa was transferred to the Plymouth County Correctional Facility in Massachusetts. His family, including his wife Alaise Seguro and two young daughters, has expressed significant distress over the sudden separation.

A judge has ordered ICE to provide proof by Friday that the agency complied with all regulations and that Manywa should not be released immediately. If the court determines the arrest was improper, Manywa may be released; otherwise, he faces potential deportation to Cameroon.
