Jonatan Christie eliminated from China Masters 2026

Indonesian men's singles player Jonatan Christie was eliminated from the China Masters 2026 in the round of 16. The world number one lost in straight games to Hong Kong's Jason Gunawan at the Shenzhen Arena.

Christie lost the match with scores of 16-21 and 16-21. Although Christie initially took a 4-1 lead in the first game, Gunawan regained momentum to win the first set 21-16. Gunawan maintained control throughout the second game to secure the victory, preventing Christie from advancing to the quarterfinals of the BWF World Tour Super 750 tournament.
