Jonathan Peloc captured after five-month escape in Salta

Jonathan Jordan Peloc, known as ‘Camboya’, has been apprehended in Salta, Argentina, after five months on the run. Peloc had escaped from the Alcaidía detention center on April 4 while awaiting trial for aggravated homicide.

Peloc was located by police in the La Caldera area while traveling as a passenger on a motorcycle. During the legal proceedings, Judge Pablo Zerdán formalized charges against Peloc for evasion and threats with a weapon. He was ordered to remain in preventive detention for 30 days in Villa Las Rosas, in addition to a six-month preventive detention order related to his previous homicide case.

Nelson Lagos, the brother of Peloc, was also detained during the operation. Lagos, who had been released from prison only three days prior after serving a sentence for attempted homicide, has been charged with concealment (encubrimiento) for allegedly assisting Peloc in evading authorities. Prosecutor Pablo Paz noted that six individuals have been accused of concealment in connection with Peloc’s five-month flight.
