Jonathan Bailey wraps filming on Netflix Monsanto trial drama

Actor Jonathan Bailey has completed filming for an upcoming Netflix courtroom drama directed by John Lee Hancock. The untitled film dramatizes the landmark Johnson v. Monsanto legal battle.

Bailey portrays Brent Wisner, the attorney who represented Dewayne “Lee” Johnson, a California school groundskeeper. The real-life 2018 case centered on allegations that exposure to the herbicide Roundup caused Johnson to develop non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The jury eventually awarded Johnson $289 million in damages, a verdict that set a significant legal precedent regarding corporate liability and product warnings.

The production, which included filming in Europe and Germany, features an ensemble cast including LaKeith Stanfield as Johnson, Laura Dern, David Duchovny, and Greg Kinnear. The film is expected to be released on Netflix in 2027.
