Jonathan David leads Canada to 1-0 victory over Chile

Jonathan David captained Canada to a 1-0 victory against Chile in a friendly match held at BMO Field in Toronto. David scored the decisive goal in the 12th minute, capitalizing on a rebound following a shot by Cyle Larin.

The match was marked by two red cards for the Chilean side, with Lucas Cepeda receiving a direct red and Gabriel Suazo being sent off following a second yellow card. David’s goal celebration was dedicated to his injured teammate, Derek Cornelius.

This performance follows a period of strong form for the striker, who recently joined Atlético Madrid on loan from Juventus. David has scored three goals in his first few appearances for the Spanish club, including a goal in the Madrid derby against Real Madrid.
