Jonathan Dubasin seeks move from Sporting de Gijón to Osasuna

Jonathan Dubasin, the 26‑year‑old forward of Sporting de Gijón, issued a public statement demanding that his club negotiate his departure to CA Osasuna. In his communiqué, Dubasin said, “I am the one who wants to leave and have asked for a way out despite a clause,” and explained that his ambition is to play in Spain’s top division. He thanked Sporting’s fans and emphasized his family’s dream of reaching the Primera División.

Osasuna has submitted a second, higher offer estimated at about €3.5 million, while Sporting cites a release clause of over €10 million as the main obstacle. The transfer remains pending as the clubs continue negotiations.

Dubasin finished the season with 38 appearances, 17 goals and four assists, establishing himself as one of the Segunda División’s leading attackers. His contract with Sporting runs until June 2028, and his move would mark a step up to LaLiga for the Belgian‑Spanish striker.
