Jonathan Haggerty eyes Hollywood career ahead of title defense

ONE Championship bantamweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Haggerty has expressed interest in pursuing a career in Hollywood following his recent appearances at film premieres in the United Kingdom. Haggerty, known as ‘The General’, has attended events such as the ‘Ballerina’ premiere and a Naseem Hamed biopic, sparking a desire to potentially star in a film about his own career rise.

Haggerty identified with the character John Wick, noting the similarities in the ‘mysterious aura’ and the assassin persona. He also suggested Daniel Craig as an ideal actor to portray him in a future biopic.

Before focusing on his interests outside the ring, Haggerty is set to defend his bantamweight kickboxing world title against former champion Hiroki Akimoto at ONE SAMURAI 4. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo.
