Jonathan Haggerty to defend ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing title against Hiroki Akimoto

ONE SAMURAI 4 Bantamweight Kickboxing World Championship kickboxing title defense

Jonathan Haggerty is set to defend his ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Championship against former titleholder Hiroki Akimoto at ONE SAMURAI 4. The main event will take place at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena on Saturday, October 17.

Haggerty, seeking his 25th career victory, expressed respect for Akimoto’s resilience, noting that the challenger has rebounded from a losing streak with three consecutive decision wins. While the fight takes place in Akimoto’s home country, Haggerty stated he is unfazed by a potentially hostile crowd.

Following a successful defense, Haggerty intends to pursue a return to the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship, eyeing potential matchups against top contenders such as Yodlekchai or Rambolek.
