Jonathan Janz releases new horror novel Marla

Author Jonathan Janz has released his 20th published book, a horror novel titled ‘Marla’. Set in the haunted small town of King’s Branch, the story follows Marla Gorman, a reclusive woman who becomes the subject of local urban legends and suspicion following a series of murders.

In a recent Q&A, Janz discussed the long-term inspiration for the character, noting the idea has been with him since childhood. He cited influences such as Stephen King and Brian Keene, and drew upon his upbringing in small-town Indiana. The novel is available in multiple formats, including a hardcover edition featuring a prequel novelette titled ‘Moonflowers’. Janz collaborated with Blackstone Publishing and Weird Tales on the project.
