NBA player Jonathan Kuminga remains a central figure in various trade and sign-and-trade discussions as he seeks a new contract. The Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly been persistent suitors, pitching Kuminga on a starring role alongside Luka Doncic. However, a deal between the Lakers and Golden State Warriors faces hurdles regarding contract value; Kuminga’s camp is reportedly seeking a deal in the $45 million range, while the Lakers' current cap flexibility limits their direct offer.

To facilitate a deal, the Lakers may need to involve a third team, potentially using Jarred Vanderbilt and draft capital to bridge the gap. The Warriors' front office has maintained a firm stance, refusing sign-and-trade scenarios unless the return includes rotation players rather than just draft picks or salary filler. Other teams, including the Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers, have also entered the market.

In a separate hypothetical three-team proposal involving the Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings, and Portland Trail Blazers, Kuminga would move to Sacramento on a three-year, $60 million contract. This scenario would see the Hawks acquire Jrue Holiday, the Kings receiving several players and picks, and the Trail Blazers acquiring Domantas Sabonis and Keegan Murray.
