Jonathan Kuminga's agent claims high impact during Hawks tenure
Jonathan Kuminga's agent, Aaron Turner, has claimed that the forward was the Atlanta Hawks' most impactful player during the second half of the season following his trade from the Golden State Warriors. Turner cited Kuminga's net rating and on/off statistics as evidence of his winning impact.
During his 16 regular-season games with the Hawks, Kuminga averaged 12.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, increasing his scoring average to 13.7 points per game during the playoffs. While Turner highlighted these metrics, analysts noted that other players, such as Jalen Johnson, are often cited by teammates and opponents as the team's top performers.
Kuminga recently signed a two-year, $12.4 million contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves, which includes a player option for the 2027-28 season. This deal was reportedly less than a three-year offer from the Los Angeles Lakers that would have exceeded $12 million annually. Kuminga chose Minnesota due to what was described as a better developmental fit.
