Jonathan Lemieux signs one-year contract with Grand Rapids Griffins and depth deal with Detroit Red Wings

Jonathan Lemieux, a 25‑year‑old goaltender, signed a one‑year, two‑way contract with the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins for the 2026‑27 season. In the 2025‑26 campaign he appeared in 26 games for the ECHL’s Kalamazoo Wings, posting an 11‑9‑4 record with a 2.95 goals‑against average and a .906 save percentage. He also made two AHL appearances with the Abbotsford Canucks, recording a 0‑0‑1 ledger and a 2.82 GAA.

The Detroit Red Wings announced a separate depth‑goaltender agreement with Lemieux, adding him to their organization after his recent West‑Michigan stint. Lemieux’s background includes four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and a university career at Concordia, where he earned OUA East Goaltender and Rookie of the Year honors in 2022‑23.
