Jonathan McReynolds discusses inspiration for new single ‘Echo’

Gospel singer and songwriter Jonathan McReynolds shared that his new single, ‘Echo’, was inspired by the spiritual foundation and prayers of his mother and grandmother. During an appearance on Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell and Mr. Griff, McReynolds discussed how his family's dedication to prayer shaped the song's message.

McReynolds also reflected on his latest album, ‘Closer’, which was recorded live in his hometown of Chicago. The project features a blend of pop, acoustic soul, worship, and ’80s music, with contributions from collaborators including Tasha Cobbs, Tim Bowman, and Jamal Roberts. He emphasized his commitment to musical authenticity over commercial success.
