White House rebukes cardiologist over Trump health questions

Jonathan Reiner, a cardiologist who previously treated former Vice President Dick Cheney, has publicly called for greater transparency regarding President Donald Trump’s health. In a guest essay for the New York Times, Reiner raised seven specific questions based on publicly available video and photographic evidence.

Reiner’s concerns include visible bruising on the President’s hands, recurring leg swelling, and apparent drowsiness during public appearances. He also questioned the necessity of an unusually high number of medical examinations—noting 22 doctors have recently examined Trump—and requested clarity on whether specific medications or recent imaging of the heart and abdomen were prompted by clinical symptoms.

The White House responded to Reiner’s inquiries with sharp criticism, labeling the cardiologist an “idiot” and an “asshole” who is engaging in “remote diagnoses” for political reasons. Reiner has rejected these attacks, maintaining that the American public deserves answers regarding the President's well-being.
