Jonathan Soares pleads guilty to selling illegal zombie knives to children

Jonathan Soares, a 20-year-old security guard, has pleaded guilty to a range of offences at Inner London Crown Court, including the importation and online sale of illegal zombie knives to minors. Soares used the Telegram messaging app to distribute banned weapons, some featuring blades up to 60cm long, to customers including schoolchildren.

Initially arrested during a fraud investigation, police discovered Soares’s weapon trade while analyzing his devices. Authorities intercepted 650 illegal zombie knives before they reached the streets. The Metropolitan Police noted that zombie knives have been involved in one in ten serious violent incidents involving individuals under 25 in London this year.

In addition to weapon offences, Soares admitted to importing push daggers, Rambo knives, and tasers, as well as engaging in fraud, money laundering, and the distribution of counterfeit cash and phishing scripts. Investigations revealed he was also researching the use of 3D printing to manufacture firearms.
