Jonathan Succar Pita dies in luxury car crash in Cancún
Jonathan Succar Pita, the son of the late convicted businessman Jean Succar Kuri, died alongside a companion, José Daniel N, following a high-speed luxury vehicle crash in the Hotel Zone of Cancún. The accident occurred on the night of Friday, August 14, near kilometer 18.5 of Kukulcán Boulevard when the driver lost control and collided with a tourist transport unit.
The Attorney General’s Office of Quintana Roo (FGE) has opened an investigation for involuntary manslaughter. While rumors suggested a violent pursuit preceded the crash, Vice Prosecutor Estela Noemí Labastida Rodríguez officially dismissed claims of a chase, stating the incident was a traffic accident caused by excessive speed and lack of precaution.
Autopsy results indicated that both occupants died from closed chest trauma, which caused severe injuries to the lungs and heart. Jonathan Succar Pita was the son of Jean Succar Kuri, a businessman who died in June 2024 while serving a sentence for running a child sexual exploitation network.
