Jonathan Wheatley reappears in F1 paddock amid Aston Martin speculation

Jonathan Wheatley has made his first appearance in the Formula 1 paddock since leaving Audi following the Chinese Grand Prix in March. His presence at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort has fueled speculation regarding his future with Aston Martin.

Wheatley, 59, previously served as a sporting director at Red Bull. After a brief tenure at Audi preparing for their transition to F1, he stepped away from the sport, citing a need to balance health and work. While his visit to Zandvoort included a meeting with Alpine's Steve Nielsen, industry observers suggest he is a primary candidate to eventually take on a leadership role at Aston Martin, potentially succeeding or working alongside Adrian Newey.
