Jongmyo Shrine and Saint-Denis Basilica exchange multilingual heritage guides

The Korea Heritage Service's Royal Palaces and Tombs Center and France's Centre des monuments nationaux have launched a cultural exchange program involving multilingual guides for two major royal heritage sites.

As part of this initiative, Jongmyo Shrine in South Korea has added French-language guides to its existing collection. Conversely, the Basilica of Saint-Denis in France has introduced Korean-language guides, marking the first time the site has provided materials in a language from outside the European Union.

This collaboration follows a memorandum of understanding signed during the Korea-France summit in April. The guides provide historical context, maps, and information regarding site facilities. The Korean guides for Saint-Denis also include details on the ongoing reconstruction work. Both sites have made these materials available to visitors as of October 2. Future cooperation between the two institutions is expected to include photo exhibitions and academic exchanges.
