Jongno-gu to implement 245 resident-proposed policy projects

Jongno-gu has launched a follow-up management plan to transform 290 resident suggestions into actual policies. Following a review meeting held on September 17, the district categorized 245 of the proposals—approximately 84.5%—as actionable tasks.

Of these, 154 items (53.1%) are classified for immediate or short-term implementation, covering areas such as roads, sewage, parks, and urban planning. The remaining 91 items are designated as long-term projects requiring larger budgets or complex administrative procedures. The district plans to continue monitoring these projects throughout the current term of the ninth local government.

Specific regional initiatives include:

• Hyehwa-dong: Developing childcare facilities and rest parks near Munmyo and Sungkyunkwan. • Changsin 2-dong: Implementing a crackdown on origin labeling fraud through a specialized inspection team starting in November. • Jongno 1-4-ga: Developing traditional Korean music experience programs to revitalize the Donhwamun-ro area. • Sajik-dong: Expanding public restroom support in the Sejong Village Food Culture Street by amending local ordinances in October.

District Head Yu Chan-jong stated that resident opinions serve as the foundation for change in Jongno and pledged to ensure these suggestions are implemented without failure.
